Forests cover over 7 % of Uruguay, of which 4 % is native forest and the remaining 3 percent, planted forest. The present native forest vegetation of Uruguay can be categorized as: riverside or fluvial forests and gallery forests, which are fringes of dense arboreal vegetation that accompany water courses.
Los bosques cubren un 7% de Uruguay, de cuyo total un 4% es nativo y el resto artificial. Los montes presentes puede ser categorizados como fluviales y de galería; estos últimos caracterizados por árboles densos que acompañan los cursos acuáticos.
